These are all reduction linocuts of some of the remaining pottery bottle kilns and ovens from the Victorian era of the pottery industry of Stoke-on-Trent. Each is unique, only 47 remain of the thousands that used to populate the skyline.

Historic industrial buildings: on the left, a low brick building with a diagonal roof sloping up to the left central edge of the image, it has a deep yellow wall and a red-framed window with sixteen small panes of glass. Directly behind it, a tall red column with a thin diagonal black line running diagonally from right to left. The column housed a rotating pottery drying system, and the line is the access ladder with a landing at the top. To the right is a broad red bottle-shaped kiln with three yellow bands around it, and a low row of buildings to its right, also in red. The sky is white, and the foreground has an indication of a rough surface.
